About The Position

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the technology lifecycle plan across systems, platforms, and infrastructure—tracking End of Support (EOS) dates, driving remediation plans before risk materializes, and ensuring compliance with lifecycle standards and governance. This includes technology assessment and cross team coordination to keep technology current, secure, and aligned to enterprise policies and the delivery lifecycle.

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology-related field, or equivalent education and related training
  • Two years of information technology experience with significant experience in software development
  • Two years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Business Process Management Relationship Management, Business Operations, or Quality Management
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies work requests/project requirements
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
  • Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Application Teams: Engage with application owners and technical teams to assess current-state environments and determine upgrade or migration requirements for operating systems and databases.
  • Plan and Coordinate Upgrades: Collaborate with platform/product owners, application, operations, and engineering teams to sequence upgrades and minimize disruptions.
  • Create remediation roadmaps to define the appropriate upgrade approach, ownership, scope, and timeline for each application.
  • Execute Against Plans: Using the remediation roadmap drive execution of activities ensuring progress aligns with the documented approach.
  • Risk, Issue & Decision Management: Document risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Work with teams - including Infrastructure, Security, Database, and Application Technical Managers to identify and assist in removing any roadblocks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communication & Reporting: Provide regular status updates, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and alignment across business and technical groups.
  • Support Standards & Compliance: Ensure actions adhere to technology lifecycle management standards, procedures, and controls. Escalate risks and non-compliance properly.
  • Participate with peer groups to identify, document and communicate project needs.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to understand project processes and strategies. Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.
  • Establish project requirements using business process and workflow analysis.
  • Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and/or technical requirements.
  • Participate in or facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs.
  • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
  • Request infrastructure diagrams in accordance to business process and workflow.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of a solution that meets the business requirements.
  • Attend project status meetings and provide regular updates to the project teams through regular presentations, status reports and meeting minutes.
  • Develop understanding of core systems, applications and technical platforms.
  • Observe strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management, etc).
