About The Position

CME Group is currently looking for a Global Assurance IT Audit Summer Intern. This candidate will assist Global Assurance on day-to-day activities in support of IT Audits. The candidate will assist with executing internal audits and special reviews to provide assurance regarding the existence and effectiveness of financial, operational, compliance, and technology-related internal controls. The candidate will develop professional skepticism and obtain knowledge of the business to understand processes to identify and assess risk. The candidate will participate in interviews with our business partners and document results of tests. The candidate will present the results of testing with the team to draw conclusions on the overall level of risk within the scope area, the root cause, and potential solutions to reduce the risk. Principal Accountabilities: Create accurate, logical and detailed workpapers clearly describing the work performed, results of testing and conclusions reached. Maintain positive and collaborative business relationships with GA's clients (auditees) to support effective and efficient audit execution. Execute audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and verify compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Partner with more senior members of the GA team to provide recommendations to management for strengthening controls and work with management to develop acceptable solutions to mitigate risk. Build knowledge of the CME's operations, including policies and procedures and any applicable regulatory requirements. Incorporate data analytics and Generative AI tools to enhance audit assurance and streamline documentation.

Requirements

  • Basic experience with Google Workspace applications.
  • Currently pursuing a BA/BS or Masters/Advanced Degree.
  • Hybrid Schedule - able to come into the CME Group Chicago Office office.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analytics, including visualization and scripting tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, Business Objects, SQL, or Python) is a plus.
  • Desired majors include Information Systems, Computer Science, or Accounting.
