About The Position

Match is seeking two dependable and detail-oriented IT Assistants to support the school network’s technology team during the summer months. The positions will start on July 13th and end on or around August 21st. Summer is a critical time for preparing schools for the upcoming academic year, and this role plays an important part in ensuring that students and staff begin the year with reliable, fully functioning technology. This position focuses on hands-on, non-confidential technology support and operational tasks. IT Assistants will work closely with the IT team to complete time-intensive projects that directly support teaching, learning, and school operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in technology, school operations, or systems support who enjoy hands-on work in a mission-driven educational environment. The positions will entail working at all three Match schools: the elementary school (100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park), the middle school (215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain), or the high school (1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton) Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2:00pm. The compensation is a $4,000 stipend, paid bi-weekly.

Requirements

  • Comfort working with computers, tablets, and basic technology tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
  • Organized, dependable, and able to complete repetitive or time-intensive tasks
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from IT staff
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with school technology or IT support is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and setting up staff computers (pre-work only; no confidential access)
  • Wiping, reimaging, and updating devices
  • Unboxing, setting up, and organizing new Chromebooks
  • Cleaning, organizing, and preparing Chromebook carts (approximately 25 devices per cart)
  • Organizing chargers and labeling devices with asset tags
  • Updating student Windows devices at the high school campus
  • Testing and updating Chromebooks to support WIDA Screener readiness
  • Updating operating systems on point-of-sale devices used in school nutrition programs
  • Checking printers and copiers for toner levels and error messages
  • Updating tablets used in early elementary classrooms (K1–G1)
  • Assisting with inventory tracking, asset management, and general IT organization
  • Supporting additional operational tasks as assigned
