About The Position

The IT Helpdesk Assistant reports directly to the Director of Information Technology Services and Operations. The IT Helpdesk Assistant will provide technical support to students, faculty, staff, and administration by responding to issues that arrive at the Helpdesk via support tickets and walk-ins. The work is performed in the IT Center and is the first point of contact for the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of customer assistance.
  • Assign IT support tickets in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customer issues via ticketing system, phone, email, walk-ins, and any other form of contact.
  • Resolve basic end-user technology problems and Escalate issues and tickets to other teammates.
  • Document customer interactions.
  • Follow-up in a timely manner with customers to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Assist with creating and editing documentation in IT Services.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain the office and related storage areas when necessary.
  • Assist in inventory tracking and auditing.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
