About The Position

The IT Architect's role is to develop the high-level design plan for the logical and technical IT architecture. You will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision-making down to team member enrollment and the project planning level. The IT Architect will gain organizational commitment and departmental support for all high-level infrastructure plans, initiates and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans. You will report to the Senior Director of Infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 4 years related experience.
  • Perform complex tasks.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and managing system infrastructure based on best practices.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software evaluation principles and practice
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Must be comfortable working in an accountable and maintain flexible working hours.
  • 7 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, network design, application development, middleware, servers and storage, database management, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Having wide-ranging experience, you will use professional concepts and our goals to create the enterprise's technology architecture designs. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with important contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Provide infrastructure architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems and Networking Managers, Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, Network engineers and other Architects.
  • You will develop, document, and enforce a technology standards policy.
  • Develop an infrastructure capacity plan.
  • Lead projects and solving problems while working across departments.
  • Develop or help develop IT policy.
  • Review all IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
  • You will develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities and ability to integrate systems.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
