The IT Application Analyst for Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation at UC Health plays a crucial role in supporting the Epic Clinical Documentation application specifically for inpatient areas. This position also encompasses support for additional applications such as Clinical Case Management, Long Term Care, and Stork (Obstetrics). The analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the applications function optimally and meet the needs of the healthcare staff and patients. This includes obtaining and maintaining necessary certifications in Epic Clinical Documentation, as well as potentially other certifications as dictated by business needs and managerial discretion. Participation in an on-call rotation is a requirement for this role, emphasizing the need for flexibility and readiness to address urgent issues as they arise. The responsibilities of the analyst include system development and support, where they will provide documented solutions to problems, execute application design changes, and develop comprehensive application test plans. They will perform thorough testing of software to ensure that application requirements are met and provide maintenance support for application tables and reports. User training and support are also key components of this role, as the analyst will assist customers and operations staff in navigating the applications effectively. The analyst will document application requests and act as a subject matter expert for various UC Health departments, ensuring that all application-related issues are addressed promptly and accurately. In terms of system definition, the analyst will define and design system tables and parameters to optimize application functionality. They will interact with vendors and end users to evaluate and implement products, providing necessary information for testing applications and developing contingency plans. Coordination of user requests and issues is also a critical aspect of the role, as the analyst will facilitate installation of application patches and work with programming teams on application development. Project support is another significant responsibility, where the analyst will provide detailed task-level information for project plans, including schedules and required skill sets. They will document project issues and ensure timely resolutions while coordinating effectively with team members and vendors. Customer relationship management is essential, as the analyst will facilitate end-user meetings, develop consensus within user groups, and communicate effectively to enhance client satisfaction and process improvements. Additionally, the analyst may provide backup support for other application analysts as needed.
