About The Position

The IT Analytics Engineer develops data-driven solutions to unlock insights, automate processes, and ultimately improve business performance. This includes developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise datasets, dashboards, reports, and analytical tools. The IT Analytics Engineer will also leverage various Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence technologies to develop, train, and deploy agents to enhance productivity and unlock new capabilities for business users.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience within the Oil and Gas industry working as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, IT Analyst, or related role.
  • Intermediate skills within SQL with the ability to retrieve data from systems, create integrated datasets using CTEs and/or subqueries, update data within systems, and create and manage data tables and views within Databricks.
  • Intermediate skills within Spotfire and Power BI with the ability to use existing projects, inherit and enhance existing projects, and create new projects from scratch, leveraging multiple data sources.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related degree.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines in Databricks.
  • Basic to intermediate coding skills in Python.
  • Familiarity with creating Databricks Genies.
  • Familiarity with creating Glean Agents.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines that combine data from multiple sources, transform it into usable formats, and deliver it to business users to consume within BI tools, industry software, or on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Rapid, hands-on development of new datasets & analytical solutions using SQL, Spotfire, and Power BI.
  • Work with AI frameworks to develop, fine-tune, and deploy intelligent agents that automate tasks and deliver contextual insights.
  • Collaborate with varying levels of engineers, geologists, and management to effectively gather data/reporting requirements and build analytical datasets, visualizations, and tools.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
  • Apply new knowledge to enhance the creation of standardized datasets and reports.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipeline tasks to maximize performance.
  • Document processes, data models, and agent behaviors to support transparency and scalability.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across different sources and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
