About The Position

NS2 Mission is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) / Systems Administrator to support a Cyber Security team located in Chantilly, VA. This role operates at the Subject Matter Expert (SME) level and is responsible for ensuring the security, compliance, and operational effectiveness of systems supporting mission-critical services. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance within technical services across desktop computing, voice communications, and audio/video capabilities. The ISSO / Systems Administrator will provide Certification & Accreditation (C&A) / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) support, guide systems through the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and assist in maintaining a robust Information Security Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Engineering, or a closely related IT or cybersecurity discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology
  • Experience managing document repositories and databases
  • Experience using process tracking and document control software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing experience
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to senior-level technical and non-technical personnel
  • Proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge of INFOSEC policies, regulations, and guidance
  • Experience with cyber risks such as malware, zero-day exploits, and denial-of-service attacks, including mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and collaboration across all organizational levels

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Sponsor’s Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
  • Knowledge of the Sponsor’s standard project lifecycle
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise IT environments, including: Multiple operating systems Major application systems Network architectures

Responsibilities

  • Provide Certification and Accreditation (C&A) / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) support throughout the system lifecycle
  • Run and execute the A&A process, including greenlighting records
  • Develop, update, and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting RMF documentation
  • Conduct and manage security scans and vulnerability assessments
  • Mitigate findings and support remediation activities
  • Perform system security updates, patching, and hardening
  • Windows and Linux environments
  • Support configuration management, system administration, and deployment of laptops and endpoints
  • Shepherd systems through the Sponsor’s security and authorization processes
  • Assist with maintaining and improving the formal Information Security Program
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of security processes and system architectures
  • Coordinate closely with GTM and Sponsor staff to ensure technical and operational effectiveness
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
