Essential Duties Perform repair receiving write-up process manually and electronically including: Read, interpret, and respond accordingly to MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) information Identify valves and accessories Translate valve information from tag to write-up form and include any customer specific requests Perform data entry in the electronic valve tracking system (GVT) including status updates and history searches Take digital pictures and electronically transfer into the ERP system network folder Safely pretest block valves and actuators per customer request for a failure analysis to be performed Safely disassemble and clean valves and parts including various types of valves such as: Lined plug valves Lubricated plug valves Lined butterfly valves Various bolted bonnet gate, globe, and check valves Soft-seated ball valves Various pressure seal gate, globe, and check valves Mark parts correctly and maintain organization and segregation Perform glass bead and steel shot blasting while understanding what can and cannot be blasted Perform chemical solvent cleaning Use oxy/acetylene torch Use bolt-torque equipment Use high-pressure packing extractor Broaden performance within the disassembly process including additional valve types such as: Spring-loaded valves and atmospheric type valves such as Atwood Morrill High performance metal-seated butterfly valves Metal-seated ball valves Wedgeplug valves and other equivalent brands DuPont CL2 bullet valves API 6D pipeline valves (WKM PowRSeal, WKM ball valves, Grove ball valves, etc.) Manual and automated bellowseal globe valves Coker isolation valves Electric, bevel gear, pneumatic and hydraulic linear, and scotch yoke quarter turn actuators. Evaluate parts and maintain material awareness Maintain and apply Code knowledge such as ASME B16.5, B16.10 and B16.34 as well as API 598, 600, and 621 Broaden knowledge and application of Code to include applicable Chlorine Institute Pamphlets, HF acid applicable material and handling specifications, API 6D and 6DR as well as NACE MR0175 or MR0103 as applicable Safely and accurately perform some machining processes: Polish stems using the lathe Use drill press or pneumatic tools for disking seats Safely assemble valves from repair order instructions, customer test-report/specification sheets, GCLA procedures, QSM/QCP manuals, and OEM IOM manuals; this includes performing the lapping process as applicable. Valve types include: Lined plug valve Lubricated plug valves Lined butterfly valves Various bolted bonnet gate, globe, and check valves Soft-seated ball valves Various pressure seal gate, globe, and check valves Install stem packing Broaden performance within the assembly process including: Assembly of the following: Spring-loaded valves and atmospheric type valves such as Atwood Morrill High performance metal-seated butterfly valves Metal-seated ball valves Wedgeplug valves and other equivalent brands DuPont CL2 bullet valves API 6D pipeline valves (WKM PowRSeal, WKM ball valves, Grove ball valves, etc.) Manual and automated bellowseal globe valves Coker isolation valves Actuators: electric, bevel gear, pneumatic and hydraulic linear, and scotch yoke quarter turn. Valves in oxygen, chlorine, phosgene, and HF acid service Disc and fit gate valves in the shop and the field Safely test valves according to applicable Code test requirements while applying and utilizing manufacturer’s manuals using compressed air, water, and nitrogen using equipment such as the block valve test stand and hydrostatic pumps. Accurate and thorough completion of test reports with all required detail is essential. Tag, seal, and prepare products for shipping while maintaining pride in workmanship including priming and painting products while adhering to all safety rules including proper clean-up and paint waste disposal. Palletizing and protecting tags, flanges, and threaded areas during the painting process are important. Safely perform final inspection process documenting any findings Read and record measurements using standard measuring tools such as manual torque wrenches, dial calipers, vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, tape measure, and scale. Safely perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and tools such as trucks, compressors, teardown equipment, paint guns/equipment, test stands, pneumatic tools such as grinders/impacts, and forklift including accurate and timely completion of required documentation and reporting. Understands and ensures that the JHC TCC (Total Customer Commitment) standards are upheld at all times Actively and enthusiastically supports JHC colleagues at all times Builds and cultivates solid relationships – internally and externally Travels when required and applicable Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position. Must be able to drive a company owned vehicle which includes meeting specified criteria to do so as well as following all policies and requirements to remain in good standing.
