About the position

The ISFSI Security Shift Supervisor at Holtec International is responsible for overseeing the security operations at the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) in Forked River, NJ. This role involves direct supervision of ISFSI Security Associates, ensuring compliance with NRC security requirements, and maintaining the safety and security of the facility and the public. The supervisor will also manage performance, conduct investigations, and ensure that all security personnel are qualified for their tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversight and monitoring of ISFSI Security Associates.
  • Accountable for the performance management of assigned security personnel.
  • Implement the MARC process for ISFSI Security Associates.
  • Ensure physical protection of the ISFSI and public against radiological sabotage.
  • Perform duties of Emergency Director for ISFSI Emergency Plan.
  • Operate the Physical Security Computer System to assess alarms and direct responses.
  • Verify qualifications of security personnel before shift assignments.
  • Ensure security equipment is tested and operable before use.
  • Dispatch security personnel to assist other site organizations as needed.
  • Operate or supervise ISFSI equipment and controls important to safety.
  • Investigate and address grievances, making recommendations for resolution.
  • Conduct daily shift briefs and maintain industrial safety as a priority.
  • Report and coordinate repairs of security posts and equipment.
  • Maintain all required qualifications for site access.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Current and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain weapons qualifications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain License to Carry (LTC).
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills and ability to assess situations effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify critical issues quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in plant operations or equivalent work experience.
  • Meaningful and verifiable work history in security or related fields.
