About The Position

As the ISA Certified Arborist, you will be responsible for the professional care, maintenance, and management of trees and shrubs to ensure public safety, tree health, and aesthetic value. This role applies arboricultural best practices, industry standards, and safety regulations to perform inspections, pruning, removals, risk assessments, and client or stakeholder consultations. You will serve as a technical expert and may provide recommendations, documentation, and oversight for tree-related activities.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • ISA Certified Arborist credential.
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience under ISA certification.
  • Strong knowledge of tree biology, pruning techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to safely climb trees and work at heights or operate aerial equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for safe equipment operation.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).
  • Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience in municipal, utility, or commercial arboriculture.
  • Supervisory or crew leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with tree inventory software or GIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and professional guidance for all Urban Tree and arboricultural activities performed under the program.
  • Ensure all tree work (planting, pruning, trimming, removal, hazard mitigation, and stump removal) is performed IAW ANSI A300, ANSI Z133, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate tree health, structural integrity, and safety conditions; identify hazard trees and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supervise and inspect arboricultural work to ensure contract compliance, public safety, and environmental protection.
  • Coordinate with the PM and other POCs to support mission requirements, priorities, and scheduling of tree-related services.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, cultural resource protections, and restoration standards at the installation.
  • Provide on-site presence for Urban Tree activities as required.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and technical input related to tree maintenance, removals, and corrective actions.
  • Support corrective action efforts when arboricultural deficiencies are identified.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
