About The Position

The Technical Lead role at Nissan's Franklin, TN Americas’ Headquarters combines responsibilities of a business/technology analyst and a technical/process lead. This role requires expertise in specific technologies, solutions, and/or business applications, acting as an internal consultant to investigate processes, technology, cost, and strategy. The Technical Lead identifies options for improving and innovating the business using Information Systems and Technology. They will work with business users in the Contest and Incentive Management team to define IS needs and translate them into requirements for technology teams. The role involves coordinating and overseeing application development, maintenance, and production support by multiple IT vendors, and serving as a liaison between business and technical teams. The Technical Lead will also act as a functional subject matter expert for the maintenance and enhancement of the Vehicle Incentive Management System product, with a focus on sales audit functions, and will review and approve analyses and solutions from IT vendors. The position requires strong analytical, technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical systematic issues to management and peers. The individual will work independently with business users to define concepts, support business users in creating business cases by defining system needs and estimating high-level costs and resource requirements, and challenge assumptions where necessary. They will also support application development within a product team following agile-scrum processes, including application testing, and lead troubleshooting for critical application downtime or functionality loss. The role demands the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and execute work independently, escalating to management when appropriate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Min 6+ Years overall IS/IT experience
  • At least 5 years application development and maintenance experience
  • At least 2 years experience in working with third party/external vendors
  • Experience as a functional expert for J2EE/Java based applications
  • Working knowledge of interface with external systems
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management methods, tools, and application development process

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expertise in specific technologies, technology solutions, and/or business applications
  • Act as an internal consultant responsible for investigating processes, technology, cost, and strategy
  • Identify options for improving and innovating the business with the use of Information Systems and Technology
  • Work with business users in the Contest and Incentive Management business team, helping define their Information Systems needs
  • Translate Information Systems needs into requirements for delivery by technology teams
  • Coordinate and provide oversight for application development, maintenance, and production support performed by multiple IT vendors
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams
  • Act as functional subject matter expert for maintenance and enhancement of Vehicle Incentive Management System product, with specific focus on sales audit functions
  • Review and approve analysis and solution presented by technical teams from IT vendors
  • Read, understand, interpret, and communicate technical systematic issues effectively to management and peers
  • Work independently with business users to define concepts under general direction of manager
  • Support the business users in creating business cases by defining their system needs and by estimating appropriate high-level costs and resource requirements
  • Challenge business users on their assumptions and proposed execution plan where necessary
  • Support application development by being part of a product team and following agile-scrum processes to create deliverables assigned to Business Analysts including application testing
  • Provide oversight and lead troubleshooting as required to restore critical application downtime or functionality loss caused by various issues like data interface gaps, configuration gaps or user errors
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and be able to manage priorities
  • Execute work independently, escalating to management for support when appropriate
