About The Position

The Irrigation Technician is a production role in the field of Irrigation Maintenance. The employee spends most of the time in the field working with another technician or by themselves. The employee in this role will primarily focus on troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems. Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to be added onto company’s auto insurance policy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of irrigation experience preferred
  • Achieves any department required certification within 90 days of placement, i.e. backflow certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with irrigation equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general troubleshooting and repairs on Irrigation systems.
  • Daily paperwork completed and turned in properly.
  • Daily job material management and tracking.
  • Job production and quality control according to route schedule and company standards.
  • Effectively communicate with the public, manager, crew leader, and site workers.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform just-in-time, light maintenance on equipment, as needed in the field.
  • Exposure to physical elements including heat and cold, and other potential hazardous materials with the use of personal protective equipment according to procedures .
  • Accurately record hours worked daily, in accordance with expectations.
  • Meet deadlines and follow instructions and expectations expressed by manager.
  • Assisting in other departments as needed.
  • Performs snow removal, ice treatment and salting during winter season
