About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade residential landscape irrigation systems. This role requires strong technical skill, independent problem-solving, and a professional, team-oriented attitude. While irrigation work is the primary focus, this position is part of a collaborative field team, and the technician will be expected to assist with landscape maintenance and construction tasks when needed. Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional residential irrigation repair and installation experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with valves, piping, wiring, and controllers.
  • Ability to interpret irrigation plans, zone maps, and basic wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass E-Verify.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multiple controller brands (Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Rachio, etc.).
  • Backflow knowledge or certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Low-voltage landscape lighting installation or troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential irrigation issues (leaks, valves, wiring, pressure problems, broken lines, malfunctioning controllers).
  • Install, retrofit, and upgrade residential irrigation systems, including drip, spray, and smart-controller components.
  • Program, maintain, and audit various controller types (Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, smart/wifi-enabled systems).
  • Perform seasonal adjustments, water-efficiency assessments, and recommend system improvements.
  • Document all work performed, materials used, and labor hours accurately for compliance and billing.
  • Communicate work status, timelines, and system conditions clearly to supervisors and team members.
  • Assist maintenance and construction teams when additional hands are needed, supporting overall operational flow.
  • Operate company vehicles and tools safely while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
  • Follow all company safety standards, state/local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with basic low-voltage landscape lighting troubleshooting or installation when qualified.
