Irrigation Technician
About The Position
Design, install, repair and trouble-shoot landscape irrigation system. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Repair or replace irrigation valves, controllers, heads and related equipment. Design and install new irrigation systems. Assist in reviewing construction plans and installation of new irrigation systems installed during construction projects. Responds to on-call emergencies before/during/after normal hours of operation. This includes but not limited to: Fires, electrical outages, floods, icy conditions and any other type of campus emergency. Operate computerized central control system for campus irrigation. Operate 521 wire locator. Operate trencher, Bobcat and backhoe. Knowledge of AutoCad computer aided design. Track materials and hours used in irrigation projects. Knowledge of pump maintenance and installation. Drive a UTA owned vehicle. Considered essential personnel. Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Three (3) years of experience performing irrigation maintenance and installation or the equivalent experience.
- This position requires a Texas class “C” operator’s driver’s license and three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
