About The Position

Landscaping by J. Michael is hiring an Irrigation Technician to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. The right person will bring strong irrigation knowledge, a problem-solving mindset, and a genuine passion for the green industry. What You’ll Do Install irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties Perform seasonal spring start-ups and fall winterizations/shutdowns Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair existing irrigation systems Repair and maintain irrigation components, including lines, sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, and control panels Read irrigation plans, layouts, and technical drawings Set up job sites, order materials, and keep projects moving efficiently Complete required paperwork and administrative tasks accurately Operate company equipment such as trenchers, pullers, trucks, tampers, and related tools What We’re Looking For At least 3 years of hands-on irrigation experience Strong working knowledge of irrigation installation, service, and repair Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and technical documents Comfortable operating equipment and working in the field daily Organized and able to manage materials, job site layout, and reporting requirements Professional, respectful, and team-oriented CIT certification preferred Valid driver’s license required DOT card required What We Offer Paid Time Off Health Insurance Retirement Plan Boot reimbursement up to $150 Bonus opportunities Training incentives Pay increases for industry licenses and certifications Annual merit reviews Advancement and long-term growth opportunities

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on irrigation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of irrigation installation, service, and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and technical documents
  • Comfortable operating equipment and working in the field daily
  • Organized and able to manage materials, job site layout, and reporting requirements
  • Professional, respectful, and team-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • DOT card required

  • CIT certification preferred
