About The Position

The City and County of Denver is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Irrigation Maintenance Technician to join the team at Willis Case Golf Course. This position involves performing irrigation system maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting issues, reading irrigation drawings, and executing sustainable irrigation practices. The technician will also inspect facilities and equipment, participate in course maintenance responsibilities, operate various vehicles and equipment, and may direct and train seasonal staff. The role requires working on-site at the golf course five days a week, including weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • One (1) year of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial, agricultural, or related irrigation systems
  • A valid Driver's License at the time of application

  • Experience working with Toro Links Operating System (or similar systems)

Responsibilities

  • Perform irrigation system maintenance
  • Monitor and troubleshoot irrigation system issues as they arise
  • Read irrigation drawings and perform construction and maintenance/repair and replacement of broken parts on various equipment including pipes, sprinklers, hoses, and more
  • Research, introduce, and execute sustainable irrigation practices at the course
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to identify construction, maintenance and repair needs including estimating materials, labor, time and cost of repairs
  • Participate in other course maintenance responsibilities including mowing, snow removal, supervision, customer communication, and coordination with the Golf Pro Shop
  • Operate and maintain various lightweight vehicles and equipment; utilize a computer for diagnosing system problems
  • Direct, train, and supervise seasonal course staff and be the go-to full time staff for all course maintenance and communication
  • Occasionally work and fill in at other Golf Courses to support general department operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
