About The Position

The Irrigation Service Technician - Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial irrigation systems. This role involves leading a team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing various irrigation projects, from small residential setups to large sports fields. The position emphasizes outdoor work, technical expertise, and leadership within a collaborative company culture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with a good record; CDL is beneficial.
• 2-3 years of landscape construction experience with irrigation system expertise required.
• Previous experience as a foreman or crew leader preferred.
• Experience with trenchers, excavators, loaders, Bobcats, skid steers, or similar equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish-English skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct seasonal start-up and winterization of irrigation systems.
• Travel to customer sites for inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Maintain and document existing irrigation systems, recording all maintenance results.
• Repair PVC and poly piping systems, sprinkler heads, control valves, and wiring.
• Program and adjust irrigation controllers for optimal water application.
• Utilize electrical diagnostic tools for troubleshooting wiring problems.
• Read irrigation designs and assist in creating 'as-built' drawings.
• Provide exceptional customer service and explain system operations to clients.
• Complete service work orders documenting materials, equipment, and hours worked.
• Guide and supervise other technicians and crew members.
• Operate trucks, Bobcats, compactors, trenchers, and masonry saws as required.
• Oversee daily maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Manage snow routes and assist with snow removal during winter.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
