The Role The Irrigation Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily field execution, quality control, and successful completion of all irrigation repairs and weekly irrigation services. This role works directly from schedules established by the Operations Manager and ensures that irrigation technicians operate efficiently, safely, and profitably. This position requires handson leadership, strong technical irrigation knowledge, and the ability to coach and develop field staff. The Irrigation Production Manager plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and meeting productivity goals. This role reports to the Operations Manager .

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a favorable DMV record.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in irrigation or the green industry.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role .
  • Expert knowledge of irrigation components and systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problemsolving skills.
  • Comfortable working with field and office software systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CIT, CIC, or CLIA highly preferred .
  • Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills strongly preferred.
  • Strong desire to be part of a supportive, closeknit team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily irrigation schedules as assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure irrigation repairs and services are completed on time and within labor and material budgets.
  • Monitor daily labor hours and productivity for irrigation technicians.
  • Perform regular site inspections to verify quality, system functionality, and workmanship standards.
  • Maintain strict quality standards, including controlling plant replacement costs to target thresholds.
  • Track and complete technician time entries and production reporting using HH2.
  • Coordinate material procurement and staging to prevent job delays or downtime.
  • Troubleshoot complex irrigation system issues in the field, including valves, controllers, mainlines, laterals, drip systems, and smart water technologies.
  • Manage, train, coach, and mentor irrigation technicians.
  • Conduct handson field training and performance evaluations.
  • Hold daily morning huddles at 6:00 AM to review routes, safety focus, and jobspecific challenges.
  • Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and support required to succeed each day.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings.
  • Respond to incidents immediately and complete required incident reporting within 24 hours.
  • Promote a safetyfirst culture across the irrigation team.
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance division.
  • Other duties as assigned by operations leadership.
