About The Position

Ruppert Landscape headquartered in Laytonsville, MD is a privately held, commercial landscape maintenance and construction company. A multi-state presence with a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community. The Irrigation Manager will work with and direct multiple irrigation teams who are each responsible for irrigation services on commercial landscape portfolios. The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for training and developing these individuals and providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing, repairing, troubleshooting, and pricing commercial irrigation systems
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record for the past three years
  • Extensive knowledge of all related tracking, toning, and irrigation tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
  • Proven ability to manage the production of service work effectively
  • Must be comfortable using laptops, tablets, and phone apps

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all irrigation services, coordinating materials, personnel, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work
  • Develop and communicate the daily irrigation schedule for service crews and management as required
  • Manage production quality and monitor the performance of crews in the field
  • Order and oversee materials while tracking costs and delivery schedules
  • Ensure crews achieve efficiency and productivity targets
  • Aid with complex repairs and troubleshooting
  • Verify that quality and detailed repair proposals are submitted by technicians daily
  • Prioritize the identification of problems, opportunities for improvement, and upselling of irrigation systems through regular inspections
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training field team members
  • Provide hands-on training and support to crew members, focusing on equipment operation, repair techniques, safety, and quality standards
  • When necessary, perform hands-on work alongside crews to meet workload and scheduling demands
