About The Position

Lawn Management Company (LMC) is searching for an Irrigation Manger for its North Houston branch . Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position will manage the Irrigation Department including but not limited to scheduling, time-entry, crew management, diagnosing and repair, purchasing, job management, safety, project design and estimating. This is a Full-time position, with typical hours being 6am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays. In addition to receiving a base pay and being benefit eligible, this role qualifies for annual incentive pay as well as a company vehicle. Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in irrigation, including lead/supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills required, with ability to speak Spanish and English being ideal
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to direct and instruct others
  • Comfortable using computers and other forms of technology is needed; ASPIRE expereince is a plus
  • Shares in company values and can demonstrate those in the field

Nice To Haves

  • Irrigation and backflow license is strongly preferred; must be obtained during employment if not

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair over 350 commercial properties in the greater Houston area
  • Oversee scheduling of inspections, bids, and repairs to stay within budgeted hours and materials
  • Oversee design and installation of irrigation upgrades and new construction jobs
  • Diagnose problems, propose solutions, and bid appropriately
  • Walk properties with clients
  • Work closely with LMC Landscape Consultants on status of jobs and issues pending
  • Perform quality control inspections
  • Work closely with subcontractors
  • Communicate daily with teammates through written and verbal communication
  • Manage time entry closing of tickets daily
  • Complete issues within Aspire software in a timely manner
  • Oversee Weathermatic installation and monitoring of issues
  • Supervise Irrigation Field Manager and/or Irrigation Technicians
  • Monitor employee development through coaching and training
  • Recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and dismissals
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and monthly truck inspections
  • Ensures proper training of personnel through weekly training sessions
  • Manage purchasing and allocation of materials through purchase receipts and ticket management
  • Perform End of Month Closing duties
  • Monitor irrigation inventory on trucks including tools and parts, put measures into place to minimize trips to store
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and emergencies
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
