About The Position

Pierre Landscape is a currently looking for a qualified Irrigation Buyer to join our Purchasing team. We provide a professional work environment with clarity in work tasks and delivery of high quality service. Duties and Responsibilities: The Irrigation Buyer will create the job Buyout Spread-sheet for all the Irrigation materials and send to vendors for quotes (RFQ). Follow-up with vendors for prompt return of quotes and input vendor's pricing in Buyout Spread-sheet for Irrigation. The Irrigation Buyer will negotiate the final pricing and create the Master Irrigation POs. This includes but not limited to pipe, valves, tools, controllers, booster pumps, etc. The Irrigation Buyer will also be responsible for all data entry into Master Builder for their PO’s. Will be responsible for savings on each buyout of at least 10%. And will maintain the Irrigation Rebate Sheet for each Irrigation vendor. Will be responsible for shipping all material to jobsite in a timely fashion and keep all pertinent team members’ abreast of shipments and deliveries. They will also be responsible for keeping track of any long-lead items. Will be asked to help coordinate pricing, cut sheets and samples for the Irrigation submittal process as well as be trained on various Production Department tasks as needed including creation of submittals. Will be cross-trained on all day-to-day purchasing from field for all jobs and issue new PO's from the Master Irrigation PO. This includes checking submittals and cross referencing them to make sure material is correct and has been approved before shipped to site. Will be responsible for any excess inventory from finished jobs and will be expected to use this material on new jobs. Will be accountable for interfacing closely with other departments to assist when needed in locating and/or pricing for bidding purposes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of landscape irrigation experience
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office & Excel
  • Highly organized, goal driven, and focused on results
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Strong oral/written communication skills, ethics, and integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Purchasing experience preferred
  • Landscape Construction Purchasing highly preferred
  • Education in any related field a plus
