About The Position
Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Ironworkers for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role requires a high level of skill, independence, and leadership in structural steel and precast erection. Candidates must be capable of working without supervision and setting the standard for crew productivity and safety. Pay for this role is up to $27/hr depending upon experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of ironworking experience
- Own ironworker’s and welder’s tools
- Certified in limited thickness SMAW in 3G and limited thickness stainless SMAW in 1G
- Current OSHA 10-hour certification
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently
Responsibilities
- Connect, rig, bolt-up, and lay deck without supervision
- Read, understand, and work from steel, precast erection, and deck drawings
- Perform limited thickness SMAW welding (carbon steel & stainless)
- Train and mentor other workers using proper erection and welding methods
- Manage small crews through various phases of erection and detailing
- Maintain high production standards and promote crew success
