Ironworker Structural Welder Performs duties to raise, place and unite girders, columns and other structural steel members to form completed structures or structure framework. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Ironworkers and structural welders are essential professionals in the construction and maintenance of various structures. They are responsible for assembling and securing metal frameworks, often at great heights, to support buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities. Work involves the fabrication and transportation of structural components like beams and columns, and the operation of heavy machinery for positioning these elements. Ironworkers typically work in teams and must follow strict safety protocols, in rigging, welding, blueprint reading, and safety.
