This is semi-skilled manual work requiring the application of skills and knowledge above the basic laboring level primarily focused on lawn care and groundskeeping, with some maintenance tasks assigned by the supervisor as needed. Work is characterized by advanced manual tasks to include the operation of light duty trucks and less complex automotive type equipment, riding lawn mowers, the use of specialized machines, such as hand and power tools, and the use of construction equipment. Employees in this position are required to work inside and outside, year-round, sometimes in inclement weather. Employees in the position also must be available for weekends, nights, and split shifts as needed to cover special events including emergency after hours calls to the property. Due to the facilities serviced by an employee in this position, a selected candidate does need to meet the State of Florida good moral character and Level II background screening standards (Florida State Statutes 435.01-435.06) to be eligible.
