The IRA Administrator is responsible for the accurate administration, reporting, and compliance of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). This role requires hands-on experience with IRS reporting forms, deep knowledge of IRA regulations, and the ability to stay current with ongoing regulatory and contribution limit changes. Requirements

  • Proven experience administering IRAs
  • Direct experience preparing and filing Forms 5498 and 1099-R
  • Strong working knowledge of IRA rules, tax reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with regulatory changes, including contribution limits and IRS guidance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with retirement account systems and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of IRA or retirement plan administration experience
  • Experience working with custodians, trust companies, or financial services firms
  • Familiarity with ERISA and DOL guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Administer Traditional, Roth, SEP, and SIMPLE IRA accounts in accordance with IRS and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare, review, and file IRS Forms 5498 and 1099-R accurately and on time
  • Monitor and implement regulatory updates, including annual contribution limit increases and distribution rule changes
  • Ensure compliance with IRS, DOL, and applicable state regulations
  • Resolve account discrepancies and respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews
  • Coordinate with custodians, advisors, and internal teams to ensure smooth account operations
  • Assist with regulatory examinations and internal audits as needed
  • Contribute to process improvements and compliance controls
