About The Position

Intermountain is seeking experienced IR Technologists to join our iFlex Team—an internal travel program supporting multiple facilities across the region. This role is ideal for adaptable professionals who enjoy variety, flexibility, and making a broad impact on patient care. As an iFlex IR Technologist, you will perform interventional radiology procedures under the direction of a physician and float to regional facilities as staffing needs arise. You’ll work under the supervision of local imaging leadership, with system-wide support from Imaging Services Management. iFlex caregivers play a key role in supporting operational initiatives, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and contributing to consistent, patient-centered imaging services across Intermountain. Check out this video and learn more and discover the “Power of We.” Posting Specifics: Flat Rate: $80.00 hourly Shift Details: Variable Hours: Full-Time (36 Hours-40 hours) Benefit Eligible: No This role is ideal for flexible IR Technologists who are comfortable traveling to Intermountain locations across Utah and Idaho for 8–13 week assignments and working in multiple units within their specialty. Compensation, including pay and living stipend, is competitive with local and national travel rates and is reviewed quarterly based on market trends. Pay remains consistent during each assignment but may change with new placements. For assignments more than 50 miles from home, housing expenses are reimbursable based on site location, with receipts submitted within 30 days; caregivers are responsible for securing their own housing. iFlex Technologists must be willing to work at all Intermountain sites, with leadership partnering closely to consider preferences and individual needs when making assignments. Essential Functions Maintains all required licensure and certifications, adheres to departmental policies and procedures, and follows protocols for medical necessity, coding/charging guidelines, consents, applicable QC programs, and equipment issue reporting. Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech in accordance with Angio Lab policies, procedures, and Scope of Practice, including coordination of patient care and communication of pertinent information to other care providers. Ensures safe and accurate patient care by performing proper patient identification and order verification, preparing the patient for the exam, providing education, ensuring comfort, and addressing patient and family concerns. Understands, operates, and troubleshoots angiography and interventional radiology equipment and information systems, ensuring quality images and maintaining a safe working environment through adherence to radiation safety guidelines. Develops and applies specialized knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, including indications, applications, proper use, and deployment techniques. Performs interventional and advanced procedures, including angiography, embolization, thrombectomy, PTA/stenting, ablation procedures, stents, and other advanced interventions; completes sheath suturing or removal and applies pressure to obtain hemostasis. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation, including patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents consistent with regulatory and departmental standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Angio/Interventional experience or Vascular/Interventional radiography certification
  • ARRT - American Registry Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS - Within 120 Days Required for non-pediatric hospitals.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced within 120 Days Required for only pediatric hospitals.
  • Relevant state licensure and/or certifications Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a minimum of 5 advanced interventional procedures and therapies, including but not limited to Neurovascular Interventions (Embolization/Thrombectomy/Intracranial PTA and/or Stenting/CAS/WADA), Advanced Liver Interventions (TIPS/DIPS/PVR/BRTO/TheraSphere TX, TACE), Pulmonary Interventions (Embolization/Thrombectomy), and Limb salvage Atherectomy.
