The position involves utilizing AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) when communicating with patients to identify their service requirements, ensuring that the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establishing rapport with patients and others. The role requires instructing and communicating with patients and/or their families regarding the tests to be performed and assessing the patients' ability to tolerate the exam. Additionally, the position entails preparing the patient or area for interventional radiology (IR) procedures by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. The individual must protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Collaboration with engineers and physicists is necessary to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. The role also includes maintaining medical imaging records in the appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for timely interpretation. Furthermore, the individual will assist leadership in maintaining all required policies, procedures, standards, and records for applicable governmental, regulatory, and accrediting organizations by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of OSHA, TJC, TDH, and ACR. Other relevant duties may be assigned as needed.
