About The Position

About Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Beaumont doctors on faculty. Scope of work Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Requirements

  • Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
  • Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.
  • Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
  • 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required.
  • IR requires BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, RT-CV or VI within 2 years of hire.
  • Cath Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months.
  • EP Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification.
  • Registered RCIS/RCES.
