About The Position

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is offering a full-time position for a Lead Special Procedure Tech. The hospital has been serving residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953 and is known for its clinical excellence and innovation in various medical fields. The Lead Special Procedure Tech will provide direct care for patients undergoing Heart and Vascular procedures, ensuring that the physician has the required equipment for quality imaging. Responsibilities include IV starts, patient preparation, administering and monitoring conscious sedation, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, recovering patients, managing groin access, and providing patient and family education.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program or equivalent training.
• More than 5 years of Interventional experience.
• Expertise in clinical skills relevant to the department.
• BLS certification and active RT status upon hire.
• RT-CV or VI registration for Interventional Radiology.
• BLS and ACLS certification upon hire for Cath Lab.
• Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification and IABP certification for Cath Lab.
• BLS and ACLS certification upon hire for EP Lab.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care pre, intra, and post Heart and Vascular procedures.
• Ensure the physician has required equipment for quality imaging.
• Perform IV starts and prep patients.
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation.
• Monitor hemodynamics and operate equipment.
• Document procedures and recover patients.
• Manage groin access and provide patient/family education.
