About The Position

Handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the interventional radiology procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year direct patient care experience is required.
• In lieu of 1 year experience, see education requirement.
• Completion or currently enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program in health care program or science related field is required within 6 months of hire OR 3 years of health care experience and able to perform independently in the scrub tech role.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience is preferred.
• Completion certificate, diploma or degree from an accredited Surgical Technician program is preferred.
