About The Position

The Special Procedure Technologist is required to perform a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Special Procedure Technologists are required to utilize sterile techniques, operate complex angiographic equipment, and assist physicians by scrubbing and circulating during procedures, as necessary, throughout the Mission Health system. Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality of radiographic images. The technologist must respond appropriately for emergent procedures, such as Code Strokes, as determined by the on-call physician. The technologist must demonstrate independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Responsibility for designated areas and procedures is assumed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a JRCERT accredited School of Radiography.
  • Must be ARRT registered in Radiography or Interventional Radiology.
  • BLS certified.
  • One year previous experience in a multi-disciplined Radiology Department required.
  • Approved experience gained through a clinical education program in Radiography is acceptable.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certified.
  • ARRT registered in Interventional Radiology.
  • Two years previous experience in a multi-disciplined Radiology Department and experience in Specials preferred.
