PRIMARY FUNCTION Under the direction of the Quality Specialist, the IPQC technician will oversee that in-process quality control of the production line is adhered to.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED minimum.
  • At least 6 months – 1 year of previous QA/QC experience in quality, manufacturing or other related fields. (Previous experience in solar manufacturing a plus but not required).
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
  • Be familiar with Good Laboratory practices (GLP), sampling, handling and management.
  • Ensure safe work process is executed with each job and a culture of safety is fostered.
  • Practical knowledge of general computer software like (MS Outlook, Office, Excel).
  • Basic usage of inspection tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to convert in units.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work 12-HR shifts.
  • Must be able to effectively visually distinguish colors. 20/20 vision with proper eyewear if required.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge of ISO 9001, IEC 60904 and Quality Auditing preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in solar manufacturing a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine Quality Inspections and Audits throughout the production line to assess and report on both product and process adherence to company's quality management system documents, technical documents, and other related documents.
  • Conduct a variety of daily lab tests (tensile strength, chemical testing, etc.) on in-process samples according to sampling plan.
  • Responsible for isolating, labeling, and classifying non-conforming products from the production line and initiating Corrective Action reports (CAR’s).
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications and use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Prepare samples according to test requirements.
  • Ensure lab equipment and inspection gauges are operating properly and is calibrated correctly by following Company’s calibration requirements.
  • Appropriately record inspection results by completing reports and inputting data into quality database.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
