JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated, community job settings Meets 1:1 with clients within the community, home, or VPI location to discuss needs and build rapport. Assess clients’ vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experiences Conducts job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the clients, following the principles of IPS-supported employment Conducts a minimum of six face-to-face employer contacts per week Provides individualized follow-along support to assist clients in maintaining employment Provides education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients Provides outreach services, as necessary, to clients when they appear to disengage from services Provides transportation for clients who may need assistance getting to interviews or other related services. Participates in weekly meetings with the mental health treatment team and communicates individually with team members between meetings in order to coordinate and integrate vocational services into mental health treatment Develop person-centered plans with clients Spends 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community Documents activities in case notes meeting Medical Assistance billable standards JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of education or human services. Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
