About The Position

We are currently seeking candidates to support our Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position is available in any of our offices, with a strong preference for Salt Lake City, Atlanta, or San Diego. The ideal candidate will have strong patent prosecution experience, excellent credentials and solid work experience, preferably from a quality boutique or an AMLAW 200 firm. Patent bar admitted is a plus, but not essential. Our Intellectual Property group works with clients of all sizes across a variety of fields, including technology, life sciences, financial services, computer software products, and consumer products. The group focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications, advising on defensive and offensive strategies for enforcement of patents, drafting and negotiating strategic licensing and commercial agreements on behalf of clients, and providing general intellectual property and business counseling. Candidates can expect to collaborate with their colleagues across offices, handle several matters with various clients concurrently and have client contact early in their career. Pay Scale: The reasonably expected pay scale for this position is $160-$250k, with bonus potential of up to $80,000. This is an employer estimate and the salary offered within that range, and the potential for bonus and bonus amount, will depend on candidate’s years of practice and experience and performance. Qualifications

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the relevant state bar and in good standing
  • 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution
  • Strong knowledge of patent laws and regulations
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Admittance to practice law in the state where the position is based

Nice To Haves

  • Technical background or significant experience in computer science or electrical engineering is preferred
  • Patent bar admitted is a plus, but not essential.

Responsibilities
