About The Position

The IP Docketing Specialist is responsible for maintaining worldwide patent protection for assigned client portfolios. This role involves coordinating with clients, in-house attorneys, foreign associates, and annuity services to ensure accurate and timely docketing of patent-related actions.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe is required.

Nice To Haves

• College or business school education is desirable.
• Patent preparation and prosecution or IP docketing experience is a plus.
• Experience with PATTSY WAVE docketing system is preferred.
• Experience with PCT Safe, ePCT, and Global IP Estimator is preferred.
• Law firm experience is preferred.
• Experience with trademark docketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the PATTSY WAVE docketing system, including opening and inputting new records for both foreign and domestic patents.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of docketed due dates and actions.
• Review and process incoming and outgoing communications from the USPTO, clients, and foreign associates, entering updates into the docketing system.
• Report and communicate docketing updates with responsible parties as per procedures.
• Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to meet all deadlines.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of completed assignments, identifying and resolving data discrepancies in the docketing system.
• Process instructions from vendors related to annuity fee payments and foreign deadlines.
• Assist other IP Docketing Specialists with special projects as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding rule and procedure changes relevant to the position.
• Generate reports from PATTSY WAVE and Global IP Estimator as requested.
• Perform other general and administrative duties as assigned.
