About The Position

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has a dynamic full-time employment opportunity for an Associate Attorney in the IP Practice of our New Jersey office. Requirements

  • At least two to five years’ focused experience in relevant areas.
  • Good standing with the New Jersey Bar or be admitted as soon as practicable.
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO.
  • Degree or an advanced degree in chemical engineering preferred.
  • Strong understanding of chemistry and related principles is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing global patent portfolios.
  • Experience preparing opinions concerning freedom-to-operate.
  • Degree in materials science or chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Support the IP Practice working on the strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios.
  • Draft chemical- and mechanical-related patent applications.
  • Prosecute chemical- and mechanical related patent applications.
  • Manage global patent portfolios (preferred).
  • Prepare opinions concerning freedom-to-operate (preferred).
