Requirements

3-5 years of software engineering experience
3+ years of Android application development
Experience supporting production mobile apps
Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java a plus)
Experience with Android SDK, Jetpack components, and Material Design
REST API integration and mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, etc.)
Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
On-Site Work 40 hours in office per week
Sedentary role with minimal physical exertion
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Splunk is a plus
Travel or airline industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

The Android Software Engineer builds and supports Spirit Airlines’ Android mobile applications, delivering features that power booking, check-in, loyalty, and guest self-service experiences. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable mobile solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java
Participate fully in Agile ceremonies and sprint execution
Collaborate with iOS, API, QA, and Product teams to deliver cohesive mobile experiences
Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Android builds and releases
Monitor app performance and support production incident resolution
Apply best practices for mobile security, performance, and maintainability
