The Addiction Therapist & IOP Group Facilitator will utilize a strengths-based recovery-focused approach to facilitate trauma-informed, trauma-specific, cultural, and gender-responsive substance use and mental health supports to residents of Synergy Recovery Network. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates with behavioral health professionals and primary care providers to deliver integrated healthcare, aiming to help individuals achieve their identified goals. The position involves both one-on-one and group therapy in Intensive Outpatient Treatment and Outpatient Treatment settings, with opportunities for supervision toward Licensure/Certification.

  • Provide Orientation for Members of the IOP/OP
  • Assist in providing referrals to members for other community services they may need
  • Maintain attendance for members of the IOP/OP Program
  • Complete Bio-Psychosocial Assessments
  • Utilize the Stages of Change and Severity Index to note medical necessity and clinically appropriate levels of care
  • Assess for roadblocks to recovery as well as additional needs
  • Develop Master Treatment Plans with the input of the member
  • Conduct therapeutic individual sessions
  • Complete discharge summaries
  • Represent the program in a professional manner to community partners
  • Work with the Clinical Team for the best therapeutic approaches and care for each member
  • Abide by the Code of Ethics for the agency as well as the NAADAC Code of Ethics for addictions counselors
  • Manage crises, make the appropriate referrals, and follow protocol
  • Advocate for recovery
  • Lead and participate in groups and activities
  • Coordinate member's attendance at community 12-step/recovery groups
  • Complete all required documentation in AWARDS as outlined in the documentation grid
  • Maintain member information in a manner consistent with the Confidentiality Policy and Federal regulations regarding Chemical Dependency treatment (CFR 42, part2)
  • Assist members in employment preparedness
  • Collaborate with staff, members, and the community to gain the perspectives of others having diverse opinions, abilities, values, beliefs, perspectives, and ethnic or cultural backgrounds
  • Attend staff meetings as necessary
  • Complete all trainings annually
  • Assist members with transportation issues
  • Participate in parties, member meetings, and other clubhouse activities as they occur
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or a directly related field preferred
  • HSPP, LCAC, LSW, LCSW or LMHC licensure preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology or related field with applicable experience, and/or specialized license or CADAC Certification
  • Experience in a clinical setting working with a variety of populations
  • Excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills
  • Opportunities for supervision toward Licensure/Certification
