This role requires a deep understanding of neurophysiology and the ability to interpret data in real-time. Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review and explanation of the neuromonitoring process. Accurately apply recording electrodes according to standardized protocols. Equipment Setup and Calibration: Prepare and configure neuromonitoring equipment for optimal performance. Implement troubleshooting procedures as needed. Intraoperative Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient's neurological status during surgical procedures. Analyze electrophysiological data to identify potential neurological changes. Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Interpret complex waveforms and patterns to detect abnormalities. Correlate findings with surgical events and patient conditions, and communicate with appropriate staff. Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all monitoring activities, including patient information, equipment settings, waveforms, and clinical observations. Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Professional Development: Participate in continuing education programs to stay updated on the latest advancements in neuromonitoring.
