About The Position

The Investment Counselor role at BBVA is designed for a highly skilled professional responsible for generating revenue and providing tailored investment strategies to clients through collaboration with Financial Advisors. The position involves leading the design and execution of investment strategies, ensuring alignment with client needs and the bank's fiduciary duty, while also providing training and support to the advisory team.

Requirements

  • High technical and financial knowledge of Money, Capital, Exchange and Fund Markets; Structured Instruments and Derivatives, and economic indicators.
  • Experience in analysis of financial information and customer portfolios and generation of optimal proposals based on particular constraints.
  • Prior experience advising FAs and Clients on strategies, product features, results and external impacts on their portfolios.
  • BA in Economics, Finance or Business Administration; Masters in finance desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized investment proposals for Private Clients based on the Investment Strategy proposed by DEI.
  • Create customized strategies and/or financial products for Private Clients in coordination with DEI.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with DEI to understand the general Investment Strategy and communicate it to the Commercial team and Private Clients.
  • Engage in meetings, events, and public forums with Clients and prospects to explain strategies and detect their needs.
  • Co-responsible for the fulfillment of Financial Advisor's goals by training, promoting, leading, and advising them.
  • Develop and propose strategies to achieve the goals of the FAs and the business, maintaining continuous contact with the Commercial Head.
  • Follow up on the performance of the FAs with respect to their goals and establish strategies to achieve them.
  • Utilize existing BBVA databases and tools to provide value to the FAs in managing their portfolios and share best practices.
  • Detect red flags in the portfolios of FAs and private clients.
