About The Position

Bremer Investments is seeking an Investment Sales Assistant or Senior Investment Sales Assistant to join our team in Rochester. The Investment Sales Associate is responsible to assist Brokerage Sales Representatives by providing servicing and sales support that commonly includes greeting clients, handling/screening telephone calls, scheduling appointments and using various PC software packages such as word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics to generate reports, presentations and other correspondence. Senior Investment Sales Assistants must have appropriate brokerage license and may act as a backup in taking and executing unsolicited orders directly from a client.

Requirements

  • Senior Investment Sales Assistant (N67) - Bachelor's degree plus a combination of education or experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a bachelor's in business or similar and minimum 5 years of related experience in customer service/ sales support/ investments related work (9 years related experience in lieu of degree)
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 or 7 and 66 exams to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents) or the ability to complete license requirements within 180 days of hire date
  • Investment Sales Assistant (N66) - Combination of education and experience which enables the incumbent to be successful in the job generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma and at least three years of related experience
  • Knowledge of the brokerage industry
  • Compliance with state law requirements is also required
  • Client service focus with ability to respond to requests in a timely fashion
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous brokerage sales support experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Opening/closing investment accounts at the direction of the Brokerage Sales Representatives
  • Reviewing file documentation for compliance, working with internal departments and/or directly with the client in solving service/operational issues
  • Answering or providing information regarding procedural/sales questions, processing client service requests (address changes, statement copies, etc.)
  • Processing the movement of funds
  • Consistent level of competence in following firm compliance procedures and file maintenance
  • Issuing sales/marketing information to clients; and corresponding with the various fund groups or product vendors as required by the Brokerage Sales Representatives
  • May act as backup in taking and executing unsolicited orders directly from a client (if licensed or after appropriate licenses have been obtained)
  • Demonstrate commitment to Bremer's risk management approach including compliance with all applicable industry regulations, state and federal regulations, Bremer's policies and procedures, and completion of all required training which supports compliance throughout
  • Minimize fraud related losses by maintaining constant awareness and reacting promptly to suspicious activity and deceptive practices
