About The Position

The Investment Recovery Coordinator position at Georgia Power involves managing the disposal of idle, retired, and obsolete items, conducting onsite employee sales, and providing cost analysis for Investment Recovery (IR) projects. The role requires developing and maintaining strong business relationships with internal and external customers, staying updated with market trends in the scrap metal and fleet equipment sales industries, and ensuring compliance with Investment Recovery policies and procedures. The coordinator will also assist with storm restoration efforts, manage sales at decommissioning power plants, and coordinate equipment redeployments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • General knowledge of Supply Chain Management.
  • Prior Investment Recovery experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Generation material and equipment.
  • Knowledge of T&D materials and equipment.
  • Proficient skills utilizing internet-based websites, such as online auction platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the disposal of idle, retired and/or obsolete items.
  • Conduct onsite employee sales.
  • Provide cost analysis for IR projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers on specific IR projects.
  • Stay up to date with current market trends in the scrap metal industry and Fleet equipment sales industry.
  • Follow all Investment Recovery policies and procedures as listed in the Investment Recovery Process Document.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete larger projects in a timely manner.
  • Assist with storm restoration efforts as required.
  • Handle billing, collections, and compliance review for IR material sales and vendor sales.
  • Process Oracle invoicing and payments.
  • Set up scrap metal bins for region headquarters, T&D and special plant projects.
  • Manage sales at Decommissioning Power Plants in Georgia.
  • Provide insight on handling hazardous material sales to meet environmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate equipment redeployments for regions and plants.
  • Assign Fair Market Values for equipment/material transfers.
  • Complete Affiliate transfers/sales.
  • Manage various Investment Recovery requests to meet compliance guidelines.
  • Assist with Investment Recovery Segments when rebalancing workload.
  • Work with SCM agents to ensure IR contracts are up to date in Maximo.
  • Coordinate scrap containers for the entire state of Georgia with exclusive scrap metal vendors.
  • Ensure timely handling of scrap swaps and pickups.
  • Assess working condition of material for auction listings and manage the auction process.
  • Screen calls regarding auction questions and arrange viewing times for bidders.
  • Coordinate with winning bidders for lot pickups.
