About The Position

The Investment Manager at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of investment opportunities and funds, conducting thorough due diligence, and monitoring existing manager relationships. This role involves collaborating with various teams to identify top-tier investment partners globally, ensuring adherence to investment policy guidelines, and optimizing investment returns through strategic analysis and performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial markets and the investment industry.
  • Strong background in risk management, asset allocation, investment strategy, and/or financial systems.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (VBA a plus), Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong understanding of all major asset classes and investment strategies.
  • Outstanding research, analytical, and intellectual capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments and execute effectively and efficiently.
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated and independent.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA); Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA); and/or progress toward advanced degree.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg and/or other data services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and recommending investment partners across a broad range of asset classes.
  • Develop a pipeline of investment opportunities and funds in collaboration with IO leaders.
  • Complete a comprehensive diligence process and prepare investment memos with other IO teams.
  • Support quantitative frameworks for portfolio construction and asset allocation processes.
  • Conduct research related to HMH's portfolio and emerging investment areas.
  • Attend meetings with existing and prospective managers, running analysis and organizing preparation materials.
  • Negotiate fee agreements and legal documents with investment partners in partnership with the IO Risk and Ops team.
  • Support the onboarding of new managers to ensure accurate inclusion in internal systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate current external investment managers.
  • Prepare investment performance reports and fund information for the Investment Committee and other audiences.
  • Conduct ad hoc studies and projects as needed.
  • Prepare position papers on various asset classes and investment strategies for the Investment Committee.
  • Maintain a network with leading investment practitioners and attend conferences to exchange ideas.
