GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for executing the purchases and sales securities by authorized individuals, rebalancing client accounts and maintaining modeling program. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 3-5 years of trading experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of securities, their markets and trade- related activities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, and team orientation.
  • Experience trading multiple asset classes, all market caps, international, ETN and ETF creation, ADRs, and derivatives.
  • Strong technology skills, proficiency with Bloomberg, order management systems, and execution management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for trading all asset classes, market caps, equities, fixed income, derivatives, ETFs, ETNs, ADRs, and structured notes under direction of Head or Intermediate Trader.
  • Required understanding of the different methods of placing orders with the designated brokers. They must determine which broker would be the most effective at handling time sensitive or large orders and a comprehensive knowledge of electronic order management systems, execution management systems, algorithms, DMAs, dark pools, and crossing networks. Also responsible for receiving executed orders back form the brokerage community and making sure those orders are properly posted and settled on the accounting system. They maintain contact with Portfolio Managers by communicating market sentiment and the current trading environment. The trader must also be able to handle the daily trading operation while the head or intermediate trader is out of the office.
  • Receives investment model updates and changes from internal and external strategy teams and executes across institutional and personal trust accounts.
  • Responsible for managing high volume, high transaction, high risk systems. Works with each internal and external strategist develop workflows for updating models, rebalancing accounts, and implementing strategy changes. Responsible for reconciling model position on a monthly basis. Monitor, identify, and correct any account level cash or position deviations from the model. Must develop, implement, and maintain procedures for ensuring minimal dispersion of returns for separately managed accounts. Should work to continuously reduce implementation shortfall.
  • Executes all modeled account maintenance requests from portfolio managers and financial advisors.
  • Responsible for creating and releasing large block orders. Tracks and implements socially responsible restrictions, unmanaged restrictions, and cash requirements for all institutional and personal trust modeled accounts.
  • Responsible for all aspects of SMA and UMA modeling platforms. Must work with IT and vendors on system conversions, upgrades, and day to day maintenance.
  • Provide guidance to portfolio managers and strategists on fund selection within asset allocation models. Must be familiar with liquidity, trading restrictions and account minimums.
