About The Position

Founded in 2015 by CEO Barry Silbert, Digital Currency Group is the most active investor in the blockchain sector with a mission to accelerate the development of a better financial system through the proliferation of digital assets and blockchain technology. Today, DCG sits at the epicenter of the industry, backing more than 200 blockchain-related companies in over 35 countries. DCG also invests directly in digital currencies and other digital assets. We are looking for someone to lead DCG’s early stage venture activity in Enterprise AI, reporting to the Head of Venture Investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (finance, business, engineering or related field), advanced degree preferred
• 6 – 10 years of relevant experience in early stage investing, fintech, crypto or AI
• Strong understanding of venture capital through prior experience as a VC investor or as a startup operator having raised from venture capital
• Demonstrated interest in crypto; prior experience in fintech/crypto/AI a plus
• Early stage VC network (AI, web2, web3, fintech, crypto) and very good at relationship building and management
• Ability to build a broad network, learn quickly and keep on topic of emerging trends in a face-paced industry
• Founder empathy and understanding

• Collaborative and a team player
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to work out of the Stamford, CT office at least 2-3 days per week

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and run the investment process, including initial contact, commercial due diligence, presenting to the investment committee and working with the legal team on legal due diligence and deal documentation
• Staying current on key trends in AI and crypto across multiple markets (with a focus on the US) as well as anticipate new trends
• Manage, grow, and maintain a deep network of relationships with top VCs, founders and other industry players to stay at the cutting edge of AI and crypto
• Testing, measuring and iterating on alternative investment sourcing channels
• Work with post-investment platform team to ensure DCG is value-add to portfolio companies in AI
• Build the DCG brand in Enterprise AI, leading relevant PR initiatives and raising our profile at events
