GLC Advisors maintains offices in New York, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. GLC Advisors is seeking an exceptional Investment Banking Associate to join its Restructuring practice in New York. This role is designed for candidates with strong technical ability, sound judgment, and a demonstrated interest in complex liability management and distressed situations. Associates work in lean, senior-driven deal teams and are expected to serve as core execution professionals on restructuring, recapitalization, and distressed financing mandates. The position offers substantial responsibility, early client exposure, and direct involvement in negotiations with management teams, creditors, and legal advisors.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical capability, intellectual curiosity, and professional judgment
  • Prior experience as an Associate within an investment banking restructuring group required
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis skills
  • Ability to independently manage complex workstreams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • FINRA Series 79 or Series 7 strongly preferred (required within 90 days of start date)

Responsibilities

  • Leading the analytical and execution workstreams for restructuring, recapitalization, and distressed financing assignments
  • Developing detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and capital structure assessments in distressed and stressed scenarios
  • Working directly with clients, creditor groups, legal counsel, and other advisors to advance transactions from mandate through resolution
  • Managing deal teams and supervising Analysts to ensure the highest standards of analytical rigor and presentation quality
  • Preparing materials for client, creditor, and board-level discussions under demanding timelines
