About The Position

William Blair's Secondary Advisory team of experts provide financial sponsors and their investors with holistic, bespoke solutions across all stages of the private equity lifecycle. The private equity community relies on us for premier guidance and expertise when navigating GP-led and LP-led liquidity transactions. An Analyst in an LP-Led Secondaries role will specialize and play a pivotal role in supporting the transaction execution of LP-led secondary sales and business development efforts for the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Prior secondaries or investment banking experience a plus
  • Internship or prior work experience in financial services industry required
  • Proven track record in university studies required
  • SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
  • Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
  • Critical thinking with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks
  • Strong desire to win
  • Sound judgement
  • Deep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and finance

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and presentation materials to clients and prospects, which exhibit broad knowledge of secondary market product solutions.
  • Manage the transaction execution process, including all GP and buyer dialogue tracking and client communications, as well as ad-hoc requests.
  • Actively participate in all client meetings.
  • Lead fund- and asset-level valuation analyses and other quantitative projects.
  • Track market data to assist the team's communications with fund managers and limited partners.
  • Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete tasks more efficiently.
  • Mentor summer interns and invest in teaching subsequent classes of analysts, imparting best practices.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested.
