About The Position

Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment is seeking an Investment Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in finance in addition to 3+ years of experience, preferably in investment banking or like experience. The Associate will support and lead the evaluation and execution of investment and corporate development activities, including strategic investments, financial planning and analysis, acquisitions, vendor and business partner diligence and selection, joint ventures, and capital raising. Responsibilities include internal and external financial reporting, deal-sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, structuring, valuation and transaction process management.

Requirements

  • Appropriate education credentials: Bachelor’s degree in finance preferred.
  • Previous experience in investment banking preferred with a focus on media & entertainment, sports and technology industries.
  • Must possess strengths in verbal and written communications; able to adapt communications/presentations and deliver clear and concise reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Copilot or other Artificial Intelligence tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead any new business case development projects on potential strategic opportunities; develop business cases on potential transactions, evaluate strategic fit, financial returns and risks, and present business cases.
  • Provide financial analysis in support of business development activities
  • Assess inbound technology opportunities for investment, strategic partnership or vendor opportunities.
  • Oversight and asset management of existing and future investments
  • Assist with the identification and assessment of growth and expansion opportunities; develop enterprise and business unit-specific M&A strategies.
  • Lead the activities to evaluate and execute mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investment opportunities; evaluate, plan and execute transactions, develop optimal structure, develop and support valuations, negotiate terms, coordinate and lead due diligence process.
  • Provide financial support and reporting across planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
  • Create and maintain internal benchmarking databases and reference guides.
  • Support capital raising activities and post-close interaction with lenders and investors, including creation of investor and lender presentations, data rooms, drafting documentation and supporting post-close operational processes (e.g., compliance certificates and other deliverables)
  • Monitor industry trends, attend relevant conferences and maintain external relationships, work closely with leadership to understand strategic priorities, and maintain deal pipeline report for senior management.
