About The Position

Responsible for tasks related to the corporation's derivatives program (customer loan level hedging, balance sheet hedging) including calculating swap quotes/breakage fees for internal parties, maintenance of swap documentation, facilitating distribution of rate reset notices to customers, assisting in the execution of a swap transaction and assisting with monitoring of counterparty risk. Facilitates and participates in the execution process of hedges with dealers to offset commercial loan hedges with clients in an auction style process with multiple dealers including creation of bid packages, confirmation of terms with individual dealer banks and execution of trades. Performs post trade checks and processing including online trade affirmation. Facilitates the execution of commercial loan hedges for the corporation's customers including building and reviewing terms with the client in order to gain final client approval. Position Title: Investment Analyst 1 Business Unit: Treasury Reports to: Varies Based on Assignment Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for assisting Treasury staff in reporting, analyzing and performing supporting duties that are necessary to ensure the Treasury Department management objectives are satisfied.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the analysis of financial and economic data related to the corporation's Treasury Department activities which may include investment purchases/sales, wholesale funding activities, derivatives hedging, asset/liability management, financial reporting, and economic analysis.
  • Creates, supports, and optimizes quantitative analytical tools (spreadsheets and databases) used by the Treasury Department managers to make decisions.
  • Works closely with management on specific projects, and works in conjunction with technical support staff outside of Treasury (e.g., IT) to ensure the needs of the department are met.
  • Prepares a multitude of reports for the Treasury Department, various committees, senior management and the Board of Directors in an accurate and timely manner to meet the reporting responsibilities of the department.
  • Assists with the investment/financial analysis, as necessary, for various tasks such as economic risk profiling, stress testing, budgeting, regulatory reporting, and forecasting.
  • Assists Treasury Department managers with preparation of documents, reports, and analysis required by internal/external auditors as well as outside regulators.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
